Meet Our Team

Emma Chen
Founder & Head ChefI didn't grow up cooking. In fact, I burned water in college — yes, actually forgot I was boiling water until the pot was smoking. After one too many sad microwave meals, I decided to teach myself the basics. What I discovered changed everything: cooking isn't about being perfect, it's about being fearless.
Before starting SparkTrack, I taught middle school science for 8 years. I bring that same patient, experimental approach to our cooking platform. Sometimes things flop — and that's okay! The best lessons often come from our mistakes.
Cooking isn't about following rules perfectly. It's about understanding a few key principles and then playing with them. Once you get the hang of it, it's like riding a bike — you never forget.
Behind Emma is our amazing team of 12 passionate food lovers — from culinary school graduates to self-taught home cooks. We're headquartered in sunny Hilo, Hawaii, where we develop and test all our recipes in a converted beachside bungalow (yes, it's as dreamy as it sounds). Our diverse backgrounds and cooking styles ensure we can help you no matter where you're starting from.
